It’s absolutely amazing. It’s like a town inside of a town.
After years of planning, Downtown Summerlin finally became a reality. The 1.6 million square foot complex has more than 125 stores and restaurants. The shopping center boasts big name department stores like Dillard’s and Macy’s, as well as new dining options like Crave and a bar by Wolfgang Puck.
But this project is way more than a mall. Downtown Summerlin was also one of the biggest retail developments under construction nationwide, second only to New Jersey’s 2.8 million-square-foot American Dream at Meadowlands, and three times bigger than No. 3, Iowa’s 668,000-square-foot Willow Creek Crossing, according to CoStar, a Washington, D.C.-based commercial real estate research firm. That rank is no small accomplishment for a city that took the Great Recession’s hardest punches.
Downtown Summerlin includes fashion, dining, entertainment, Class-A offices, and luxury, high density, urban-style residences. Connectivity within the Downtown will be accomplished through centrally located neighborhood parks, lush streetscapes and enhanced pedestrian corridors.
Bounded by the 215 Beltway, Charleston Boulevard, Town Center Drive and Sahara Avenue, this walkable urban experience services both the local community and the entire Las Vegas Valley.
