Atlantis Submarine Tour was nice. This was a pretty unique thing to do in Hawaii, great for all ages, 100 feet under water about a mile off shore in Waikiki.
After checking in I had time to walk out on to the pier and enjoy the view for a moment.
When it came to boarding they funneled everyone in and signed us in once more, handed out boarding passes, and took photos that could be purchased.
You start the experience off in a small ship that takes you to where the submarine is located. The ship ride was about 30 minutes. From the ship, you can see Waikiki beach and the beautiful, green mountains next Waikiki.
After finally reaching the submarine they tied them together and we started to transfer from the ship to the submarine. As we took our seats inside the submarine directions were being given out about what to do as we were being seated.
After everyone was seated they closed the hatches and we received a few more directions and safety warnings, we then began our descent. The trip was very well paced and the pilot/speaker was very knowledgeable about the creatures and structures that we were seeing.
Seeing the submarine is pretty neat. Each person comfortably shares one window. The submarine goes down 100 feet. The guide was helpful in pointing things out, like turtles, sharks, and other cool sites under the sea.
After competing the tour we surfaced and we’re assisted back on to the ship. At this time you could shop at the souvenir kiosk on the ship or buy snacks.
The tour submerged was about an 1 hour 15 minutes. But its about 2 hrs with the boat ride out to meet the submarine. The workers on the boat were extremely friendly and gave great tips on the beat tourist stops. And they are good at reminding the passengers to use the restroom before we got on the submarine because there are no restrooms on the submarine.
If you have anyone in the group that is military be sure to ask for a discount.
It was a great educational tour of marine life. Many structures were placed there for scientific purposes and the memories and mental photographs I have are priceless.
