For the second year in a row I had the opportunity to participate in the fundraiser for Kassidy, our friend with brain cancer. And this time I even took along my dog, Dakota!
On May 19, 2011 an MRI showed that Kassidy had a tumor in part of her brain stem & spine. The next day she underwent surgery and doctors determined that her tumor was inoperable because of it’s infiltrative nature. Days later, the biopsy results showed that her tumor was called a ganglioglioma, a very rare type of tumor.
This year, the Kassidy’s Army race was a success, and it felt amazing to give back for the first time! This year the registration fees helped 10 month old little Aurora, who had open heart surgery recently.
