Since parking can be a challenge in Austin, my friend Linda and I decided to use Austin Detour during our visit to Live Music Capital of the World.
This was a great tour! With our guide we got an insider’s perspective of the beautiful city of Austin. On this tour we stole a sneak peek into the historical (State Capitol), restaurant & food truck, music, and real estate scenes.
Nice 2 hour tour hitting some of the main highlights of Austin. We saw a lot, and I got ideas on where to eat and what to do on the rest of our visit.
We went in a very comfortable van and it was so nice to have someone else do the driving while a group of super fun ladies
was checking out the city.
I particularly enjoyed the stop at the Capitol, where we were able to get out of the bus and take a short visit inside. With the crowded parking situation in this area, this was an easy way to see the inside of the building.
We learned about Austin’s history as well as updates on its art and music scene. We even stopped at a bakery food truck for a sweet treat, compliments of Austin Detours. Love it!
This is definitely not a typical “van tour.” Along the way our tour guide spoke about art, music, culture, food, history, parks, famous people, and much more! We’ll also discovered secret spots, heard funny stories, and deciphered local legends.
We made new memories and laughed a ton as they showed us how we “Keep Austin Weird.” Finally we experienced Austin, don’t just see it through a window!
As a travel blogger, I highly recommend taking an Austin Detour as soon as you arrive in the city so you know how you want to spend the rest of your visit there.
