From Las Vegas to Boston

Boston is the capital and largest city in the state of Massachusetts.  With an estimated population of 636,000 in 2012, it is the 21st largest city in the Unites States.

Boston’s economic base also includes finance, professional and business services, and government activities.

It’s one of the oldest cities in the United States and the area’s  many colleges and universities make Boston an international center of higher education and medicine. The city is considered to be a world leader in innovation for a variety of reasons.

I went to Harvard University, Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, Rebook and Dunkin Donuts, which has its headquarters there.

It has always been a dream of mine to visit Harvard University.  It is one of the most prestigious schools in the world and many of the political leaders of Panama and from all over the world have taken classes there.

Gillette Stadium is home to the NFL’s New England Patriots.  They are one of the most popular teams in the league and have won the Super Bowl three times.

Fenway park is (along with Wrigley Field) the oldest stadium still being used in Major League Baseball.  It is one of the most recognizable stadiums anywhere in the world and is home to the Red Sox who play in the American League East.

Although the weather was not perfect and a little cold for my tastes, I really enjoyed the scenery that the city provides.

I couldn’t believe how many tunnels I saw in this city!  I wish I had been able to spend more than just 24 hours in this city to check out all the sites.  Hopefully next time I will get that opportunity.

One thing that seems the same everywhere is people’s reliance on their cell phones!  Check out this picture I took in Boston where everyone has their faces buried in their phones.

Travelling the United States really gives me an opportunity to learn so much more about this country that I have only lived in for just a few years.  There are so many differences I discover whenever I go somewhere new.  If you get the chance, see as much of this amazing country as you can.
