It’s not just for Rambo: My day at the Guns and Ammo Garage

 Guns and Ammo Garage is an indoor, state-of-the-art shooting range that offers first-time shooters and gun experts alike the chance to fire high-powered firearms in a safe and relaxed environment. 

 I got an invitation to come and try them out and I said yes. However, I must admit, I have never been a very adventurous type of girl. But when it was all over, it was hard to deny that I had a really great time. 

 I had never shot before and was very impressed with my experience there. They were accommodating, fun, and a great place for beginners such as myself to try out guns that I’d never be able to even touch before.  

Being a little uncomfortable around guns, they expertly taught me all I needed to know to safely handle a firearm.  Obviously, that is the most important thing to shooting.  And although I hope to never need to do it to defend myself, I appreciated the learning experience just in case I ever do.

When I arrived, I headed to the counter and a girl started to explain everything about their shooting packages, and I filled out some forms in order to get permission to shoot.  I was immediately impressed with their selection of weapons and pricing.

The staff was very supportive of me, and I could tell that everyone who works there loves their job. The girls behind the counter are totally knowledgeable about all the guns. They’re not just pretty faces.

  I felt safe while shooting and my instructor never left me unattended. I was able to shoot an Uzi and a Glock 19. The instructor briefed me on each of the firearms before I shot them, so I knew exactly what to expect. He helped me out and made sure to explain everything very clearly. He was right behind me, telling me exactly how to safely handle and fire each weapon. Everything was controlled and he gave tips on how to improve my accuracy.

 I will definitely come again and shoot some different, crazier, weapons next time!

   The experience was unforgettable, so I recommend you to take your cameras because you can video or take as many pictures as you want as long as you stay behind the yellow line.  I can’t tell you how great it is to have an activity that is both enjoyable and practical in this day and age.

 Also, they have a great supply of clothing and accessories for sale.

 Of course I picked up a black sweater. Thanks for the gift!
