I had the opportunity to visit Jalisco Cantina last night, which patterns its offerings off of the fare that is available in, you guessed it, Jalisco, Mexico. They offer a diverse menu which reflects food and drinks that are common in that area of Mexico. And the best part is that if you want great food late at night, you can pass on by the fast food drive thru’s and check them at 24 hours a day.
At our tasting, we got to see, and taste a variety of what they offer. Everything was clearly very fresh. They had items highlighting Jalisco, such as seafood from the pacific coast, beef from the interior and vegetable from its fertile oil.
They are particularly proud of the several different kinds of guacamole they feature. And it was easy to understand as I helped myself to more than my fair share in between the tastings that came from the kitchen. I was particularly fond of the maiz and chipotle style, but the clasico and camaron tropical were also delicious.
Another selling point of the restaurant is the tequila! In fact, they feature over 100 different brands! Unfortunately, I only was able to sample a couple during my visit. When you stop by, trying one of their signature margaritas is a must. All are made only from 100% agave tequila and real fruit juices.
I am always excited to discover new and delicious options to dining out. This restaurant gives a fresh and exciting twist on Mexican cuisine, which is a relief because I am becoming bored with so many of the other local options. They have two locations in Las Vegas, and they are definitely worth checking out whether you need a nice place for dinner, or a late night snack.
Jalisco Cantina has 2 locations: 3460 E. Sunset Rd. (at Pecos) and 6450 S. Durango Rd. (at Sunset.)
