Chicago Trolley Tours: An amazing way to see the Windy City in 48 hours

In big cities, I always like to take a bus tour (if offered) as soon as I arrive in order to get acquainted with the new city I am visiting. I particularly love doing hop on and off bus tours, as they allow me to get off and see things I find interesting up close.

During my visit to Chicago with my best friend and business partner Marbelis, we decided to take Chicago Trolley Tours, and we really enjoyed the next 48 hours as it gave us a great view of most of the city.

We live in Las Vegas and Chicago was very cold for us, but we were really excited to tour this incredible city! Thanks to Chicago Trolley Tours, we had two options. We rode both the trolley and the double decker bus, and were able to start from any of the numerous stops along the 13-mile route. Our driver gave us a map, and from there we knew where we wanted to stop to eat, take pictures and walk around. It was super easy and fun!

We learned so much about Chicago, both past and present during our short stay. If you elect to take the tour without getting off, it takes about two hours and the knowledgeable and entertaining drivers tell you all about the sites that you pass along the way.

There are 14 different stops that will take guests to major Chicago attractions, including Millennium Park, Navy Pier, and the Magnificent Mile, as well as Willis Tower. The stops were well spaced out and in great locations that made it fun to jump off.

We learned some fascinating insights into the architecture and history of the city, and it really is a terrific opportunity to get your bearings before you go out and explore on foot. Loved it!

Chicago has been one of the true highlights of my time in the United States. It is easily one of my favorite places to visit. The culture, history, food, architecture and everything else it has to offer make it one of the coolest cities in the country.

Here are 4 facts we had learned during our tour:
.
– Chicago has the second highest percentage of commuters riding their bikes to work in the US.
– Chicago is home to more than 30 Fortune 500 companies.
– Mickey Mouse is from Chicago. Walt Disney was born in the Windy City.
– The first McDonald’s franchise restaurant opened in Chicago, and their headquarter is there.

By the end of the tour, we felt just like a Chicago local!

If you want to have the same experience as us, tickets can be purchased at any of the stops on the route (check the website for the list here).
