Water fun in the desert

Las Vegas Boat Harbor, located in Lake Mead is the largest privately owned marina in the world, with just under 1500 slips in the Hemenway Harbor of Lake Mead.

What a beautiful view of slips here! I spent a couple hours in this awesome place recently with some friends that just moved here from New York.  They wanted to know how much they would have to pay to park their boat here. For a small boat it is around $228 per month. No bad it all!

While they were asking some information I took some time to walk around the harbor and I had a great time. It was my first time here.

It is a great place to people watch and feed the fish (who are always waiting for their next meal).

Once you are inside, you will find the marina store, which is fully stocked for all your boating, picnicking, fishing, and visitor needs.  Obtain your fishing license, maps, souvenirs, rent a boat or waverunner, and get all your boat and beach essentials.

Also they have The Harbor House Cafe, which a delightful floating restaurant and bar that sits right on the lake. They have breakfast, lunch, dinner or you can just grab a snack and drink.

The visitor amenities include things for rent such as: runabouts, ski boats, wakeboard boats, pontoon boats, fishing boats, and waverunners.

The Las Vegas Boat Harbor rests on a scenic spot at the southwest corner of Lake Mead. It is surrounded by open desert and mountains. It is about a two mile drive from the intersection of US 93 at Lake Shore Drive, the main entrance from Boulder City.

There’s always something going on at the marina. I will go back very soon.
