Solvang: An Authentically Danish-American Town.

I’ve always wanted to visit Solvang since I see so many influencers and youtubers visit and go on about this place.

Named one of the “10 Most Beautiful Small Towns in the Western United States,” Solvang’s rich heritage started back in 1911 when adventurous Danish-Americans traversed the plains from Iowa to establish a settlement in the golden state of California.

The Danish-Americans wanted to promote their Danish culture. The built a Danish folk school and church as well as Atterdog College, which opened it’s doors in 1914.

When I think of Solvang, I think Bakeries. This little town has 7 bakeries, and while each has about the same selection of goods, they each have a specialty that is better than anyone else’s.

Cute little Danish town with tons of restaurants. The most enjoyable part of visiting is walking around town and looking at the beautiful buildings.

If you are looking for a unique getaway, the historic Danish village of Solvang offers the best of the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara wine country in a relaxed and peaceful setting.

Stroll through the village and admire the old-world European architecture, plus find the perfect souvenir at a variety of charming boutiques and shops. A ride on the Solvang trolley is a must for families. This historic, wooden, horse-drawn streetcar, is just one example of Solvang’s rich cultural heritage and offerings.

SHOPPING — lots of little quaint shops, definitely the place to go if you are looking for clogs, lederhosen, or a sexy apron. There’s a cool western wear store, and a few factory stores, too.

Love it love it love it and can’t wait to go back!! Charming, pretty, friendly, warm, gracious, interesting, delicious eating options and more.

Great photo ops and opportunities to soak in some Danish culture without having to leave California.
