Small Town Dog – The perfect solution when you can’t take your pooch with you!

For those of you who follow my blog, you know I am all about getting out on the town, or even leaving Vegas in my quest to see everything fun and exciting.  We continuously highlight and suggest some of the most interesting places that people should consider visiting.

Well, one problem I am often confronted with is who I need to leave behind in my travels. For example, I will be going to Panama over the Christmas holidays and I will not be able to take two of the most important people in my life….. Dakota and Fun Bobbi!

I love these dogs as if they are my children and it is so hard for me to leave them behind.  So when I need to search out a person to care for them while I am gone, it can’t be just anyone.

Fortunately for me, and many other people in Las Vegas, there is a great place that we can trust to look after the special dogs in our lives while we can’t be with them.  That can be just for the day, or even for a couple weeks like in my case.

Small Town Dog is a huge help to people looking for a doggie day care or boarding.  And despite their name, they can also accommodate some larger dogs depending on how full they are (fortunate for me since Dakota is not too small).  Additionally, they offer other services such as grooming, nail trimming, baths, etc.

If you are like me, you know that you can’t just drop off your dogs anywhere. You need to know that they will be taken care of.  If I have to worry that they will be neglected, that can really distract from your time away.  Fortunately, Small Town Dog has Susan.  The first time you meet her, you know that this is more than just a job for her.  She loves your dogs almost as much as you do!  It is clearly her passion, and it shows when you talk with her.  She does everything she can to make your special pooch feel as comfortable as possible while you can’t be with them.

The facilities are nice, if not quite as fancy as some of the big time dog boarders.  However, she does her best to make the dogs feel as if they are not locked up in a cage.  Most of the kennels are actually white picket fences that seem less like cages and more like something dogs would be confined in if they were inside their own yard.  Things are kept clean and Susan is constantly on the premises interacting with all the dogs.

The bottom line is, no matter what you need, Small Town Dog can accommodate you.  If you are in town with your dogs and need to drop them off for the day while you see the sites, this is the place.  If you are going out of town and can’t take your dogs, Small Town Dog is the place.  If you just need your dog bathed and trimmed, you guessed it, Small Town Dog  is the place!

Conveniently located at 3430 East Tropicana, it is close to the strip and not far from the airport.  All that you need to do to line up your dog’s stay is to go online and fill out the reservation form.  Their site is smalltowndog.com.  Also, like any dog boarder, Susan requires that you show proof that your dog is up to date on it’s vaccines.  The last thing you want is to have your dog get sick because another dog isn’t healthy!

If you want to visit the facility before you arrange a stay, just give Susan a call and she will be happy to show you around.  Now you have no reason to miss out on any of the sites Las Vegas has to offer, or to miss out on taking a special trip just because you have nobody to take care of your dogs.  Small Town Dog has got you covered!
