The Pioneer Saloon: More than 100 years of history, and still a cool spot

The real history of the area lays outside of Las Vegas. The drive will take you about a half an hour, but every mile is worth it.
Built in 1913 for the thirsty miners of Goodsprings, Nevada, a trip to the Pioneer Saloon outside of Las Vegas is a trip back in time.
Goodsprings is a very small town. The Saloon has been featured in countless movies and television shows. Much of the decor that graces the big screen sits around the saloon and hangs on the walls to this day. Original newspaper clippings tell story after story of the incredible history of this saloon from yesterday.
Within the cozy atmosphere lays a rich history and heritage of the old mining towns, Hollywood of yesteryear and the Wild West!
If you have a bike, it’s a great place to ride out of Vegas and back. If you have a car and you’re a tourist, it’s also a great place to take a little trip.
What a great time I had, learning about the place and eating awesome food. I love their ribs! There was some music going on in the bar area too.
I took a ride one day to find this Saloon. I read it was one of the oldest bars in Nevada and I love old places with a lot of history to them. It is really neat just to go and see old places.
The Goodsprings mine went bust in the 1920’s after World War I and most everyone left in the following decades.
This is a historic Saloon. The atmosphere was vintage and it almost felt as though I was going back in time while there.
It’s all wooden and old. Definitely has a an old frontier, mining town feel to it. And there’s some relics placed around the area. There’s even an adorable stray kitten. The outdoor area has several fire pits, strings of lights, etc.
They also provide numerous ghost hunting devices that let you know there are spirits in the room/area. One of the devices actually lets you ask the spirits questions, and sometimes you get unbelievable responses.
What a fun destination for an afternoon or evening.  I’ll be back many times for years to come.
